Yay!! It’s the obligatory welcome blog post!

Come on, you guys are excited… I know I am. I’m super happy that you are here.

My hope is you find this blog fun(ny), informative, inspiring, and maybe even a little bit quirky… because this blog is for Y.O.U.

Ever since I started this journey to turn my dreams into a reality and form a life out of the norm, I have been getting a ton of questions. You guys are Curious City! And I have a sneaking suspicion that you’re wanting to know how to incorporate some of it into your own lives. You may even want a complete overhaul yourselves.

Well, I am here to help in any way that I can, because I know how amazing it feels to be on the path less traveled.

But before I go any further, let me introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me yet. (No worries, we’ll become great friends in no time.)

Obviously, my name is Jennifer (hi there!). I’m a single mom who got BORED with life. I was done waking up to go to the same places, do the same things, not really doing anything with purpose or passion.

You know that saying…

(I bet you’re nodding your head because we’ve all been there.)

I was entirely too comfortable… and that’s when I realized I needed to get UNcomfortable.

First thing I did was walk over to my desk drawer and pull out my bucket list. (How many of you don't even have your list written down at all?! Umm hmm...). After pondering over the lengthy list of things I wanted to do, I noticed the overwhelming majority of them had to do with travel.

So that’s what I decided to do! Travel the world! Yay!

Easier said than done, right? You betcha.

Traveling takes money. Something that I didn't have much of. But I knew there had to be a way around that! You hear stories about broke-ass people who manage to travel around the world all the time. There MUST be a way for me to do it as well.

I went to the internet, started to do some research… and finally found my answer. It was like the heavens opened up. You can read all about its glory here.

So I made a plan. I stuck to it. And I started to travel.

Six countries later, with two more in the plans this spring, I have no intention of stopping.

But once I found a way to accomplish THAT goal, I started to get more confident about going after other dreams as well.

  • I started my own business, doing work I enjoy, not just work for a paycheck. (What a novel concept, right??)

  • I took my first solo trip - internationally, no less. It was life-changing. I’m singing its praises all over the place now. You can read about that jazz here.

  • I found the courage to send pages from my very first novel to an agent. I’m still waiting to hear back, and she very well may rip it to shreds, but I’m going for it anyway! And I'll keep going for as long as it takes.

And now I have my biggest, most exciting hill to climb yet.

I’m not going to dive into details about what exactly that hill is made of at the moment, but let me tell ya… it’s awesome and a major game changer. (Trust me, as soon as I can divulge details, you’ll be the first to know!)

The point is, when I got bored with life, I took action. I realized I had outgrown my comfort zone, sucked up enough courage to walk out of my little bubble, and I’ve never looked back.

But I don't want you to get me wrong, I didn’t just go skipping and whistling into the unknown. It was scary. It’s STILL scary. I’ve had all kinds of failures to go along with the successes. Lots of bumps and bruises, and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

It’s all worth it, however. 100%.

I'm telling you, the wind that hits your face as soon as you step out of your comfort zone is exhilarating. You won't even mind if it messes up your hair. It's that good.

And because of that, I'm taking you along on this journey with me! We'll, of course, talk about travel and bucket lists and all that fun stuff (better go apply for your passport now and get that bucket list written down asap), but we'll also talk about self-care, beauty, health, home, and everything that makes up a full, colorful life.

So go check out the site! Poke around. I’d love to know what you think. Tell me what you’d like to see more of. Let me know if you have any questions. Sarcastic banter is enjoyed. Gratuities are appreciated (kidding).

A new blog post will be posted every Wednesday. And if I’m feeling sassy enough, I’ll throw one in on a weekend for good measure.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there! Go enjoy. And better yet, go live a little :)
